Make Your Bath Eggstraordinary

Saturday, 19 April 2014

I don't know about you, but for me there's nothing quite like a long, hot soak in the tub. Sunday is my day of choice for bathing, around 6pm to be precise, random I know. Lights off, candles lit, some chilled music on and the worries of the week, and the hangover from the night before, are but a distant memory.

What I put in my bath is of most importance to me. When I was a kid, it was Matey bubble bath, as a teenager some sort of Body Shop fruitiness, but now I like to switch between my beloved Jo Malone Lime, Basil and Mandarin bath oil or one of the many delightful Lush bath ballistics.

Now Sunday is nearly upon us, Easter Sunday in fact, and I'm looking for something that will make bathtime a little eggstra special. A trip to Lush did not disappoint, and what treats they had, I just had to share with you all.

First off, the Imaculate Eggception (largest egg, back centre), fragranced with lemon oil and grapefruit. This is a HUGE bath bomb, too much for one bath surely. How right I was, crack the egg in half, like a chocolate egg, and it reveals a hidden surprise, another bath bomb in the shape of a chick or a bunny, so cute you may not want to use it. What I love about this, apart from it's techni-coloured egg shaped amazingness is that you get three bath bombs in one - clever little eggs.

Next up, Dragon's Egg. As Game of Thrones is back on our screens, it just seemed fitting to buy this. Another bath bomb, this one looks like it is speckled with jewels, but that's not all that's hidden beneath it. Popping candy is what gives this bath bomb an extra edge, lots of fun for any big kid.

My final purchase, was the shiny gold beaut, the Golden Egg! I'm a sucker for anything sparkly, I must say, so I would have bought this without knowing anything else. When I picked this up I noticed that it didn't feel like a normal bath bomb. A lovely lady who worked at Lush told me that this is half bath melt and half bath bomb. Melt on the outside, made with softening cocoa butter and olive oil, and bath bomb in the centre with orange and bergamot oil. Plus it smells of toffee....yum.

So, if you're looking for something to do apart from gorge on chocolate this Easter Sunday, perhaps treat yourself to a Lush Easter egg instead. I know I will, my eyes are firmly on that sparkly wonder.

Happy Easter everyone.
